There are many portable car DVD player choices available and each has its own advantages and potential disadvantages. Every vehicle is unique, as is each driver, but the choices listed below are very accommodating and I'm certain you'll come across one that is right for you and your vehicle.
Mobile DVD Player Case
Car Tvs And Dvd Players
This is probably the right choice for those on the lookout for a cheap car DVD player set up. Cases are essentially similar to a laptop case. You just place your portable player inside the case, and secure it to the car's front seat backs for instant rear seat screening. Just fasten the top section of the case to the seat back and flip down the horizontal bottom part. The player sits on top and is secured into place. This is a reliable choice if you already have a portable player that has reasonable skip prevention technology. With this set up, your existing portable DVD player becomes your car DVD player, and you can bring it with you when you leave the car. Although simple to install and extremely inexpensive, car cases are not for front seat screening.
Dual Screen Car DVD Players
Dual Screen Car DVD players also mount to the front seat backs and are excellent for back seat viewing. Dual screen car devices have the player built into one of the 2 pieces. The second screen acts as a detached receiver which gets the signal from the primary unit's IR transmitter. With their own external speakers and headphone input jacks, each users can exercise a fair amount of power over their immediate viewing environment, although, they will have to fight over the lone remote control. As with the first alternative, battery performance is a restraint, although nearly all come with the requisite adapters for in-car charging.
Tablet DVD players for cars
Tablet DVD players are simply portable players that do not fold. Think laptop vs. tablet PC. It is all in all the same machine with a modified layout. The tablet DVD mounts flush against the seat back and the disc loader door is located either on top or on one of the sides. External speakers are typically flush mounted on the surface of the component. Tablet players often come equipped with dual wireless headsets.
In-dash car DVD
In-dash players can be had in several styles. With or without an included viewing screen, in-dash is the most customized option to be had. You will need a big enough opening in the console and a reasonably generous passenger area to install one with a screen. When not being used, the screen, normally 5 to 7 inch wide, folds into the unit itself. You will see in dash units described with either a single or double din label. Very simply put, a double din unit is 4 inches tall and a single is 2 inches tall. In dash portable DVD can be had with and without a TV tuner.
Flip Down Portable Car DVD
As an alternative, you can put in a flip down portable car DVD screen from the roof and link it to an in-dash unit via a built in IR or Bluetooth transmitter. You can really go full function with roof mounting all-in-one systems that bring in DVD, Game console, FM transmitter and TV Tuner. A lot of families love these and usually mount them to gain rear seat viewing and/or gaming.
